Rick Maggi Golf Tournament, Friends of XL Hospice Fund Raiser

XL Hospice and Friends of XL Hospice would like to formally thank the Golf Club at Fernley for graciously hosting on September 15th the 6th Annual Rick Maggi Golf Tournament.  The Nevada team of XL Hospice also extends our gratitude to the local companies in and out of our servicing areas for their generous donations to this event.  Without the local support of the Golf Club, the donated raffle and silent auction items, as well as the 64 golf participants, this tournament would not have been a success.

There is no amount of words that XL Hospice or our beneficiaries of Friends of XL Hospice could say that would describe our deep appreciation.

This is the 6th annual tournament which is the longest running charity golf tournament in the Golf Club at Fernley’s club history.  Rick Maggi passed away in 2007 and is someone that is dear and near to the hearts of the golfers who frequent the Golf Club.  The Club hosts this event in his loving memory and all the proceeds of the benefit go to Friends of XL Hospice. This tournament has grown every year since its inception and has generated nearly $29,000 to current date. The Friends of XL Hospice is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, which provides funding for individuals who would otherwise be unable to afford hospice services. This organization provides the means so that XL Hospice has the ability to provide the needed care to those in the community who do not resources to receive hospice care.

The Nevada Team of XL Hospice services rural northern Nevada, counties in the servicing area are: Churchill, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing, as well as outlying areas in Washoe, Storey and Douglas.

Our mission: XL Hospice is much more than a name. We are devoted to giving each family a gift when they need it most; it’s the quality of life for our patient’s when they are facing life’s greatest challenge. Hospice care is available to people who no longer benefit from curative treatment. The goal of XL Hospice is to help patients have a life with dignity and quality.
