National Television Program to Feature Fallon, Nevada

    The Outdoor Channel is scheduled to broadcast a program on February 8th that will be of special interest to residents of Northern Nevada & California.  Shooting USA, a very popular show on the network, covered The Fastest Gun Alive Tournament - The World Championship of Cowboy Fast Draw, which was held in Fallon, NV in early October this past year.

    The sport of Cowboy Fast Draw is administrated by the Cowboy Fast Draw Association, based in Fernley, NV.  Its unique format using special wax bullet ammunition allows CFDA events to be held at almost any location and the organization has over 50 affiliated chapters across the USA and several other countries.  It’s a colorful and very competitive western-style shooting sport.  Competitors use real six-guns, authentic holsters and wear period clothing; they also adopt an alias to compete under.  CFDA is affiliated with the National Rifle Association and promotes the safe and proper use of firearms at all times.

    This is the 4th year this event has been held in Fallon, NV; it had previously been held in Deadwood, SD.  It is supported by the Fallon Tourism Authority and draws hundreds of participants, spectators and draws national publicity.  The History Channel previously covered the same event a few years ago.  The event draws nationally recognized sponsors such as Ruger Firearms, Pietta of Italy, and Mernickle Holsters.

    In an interview at the Shot Show in Las Vegas on January 18th, Shooting USA’s Producer, Jim Scouten stated, “This is the most exciting show that we have ever produced.”  Cal Eilrich a.k.a. Quick Cal, Director of CFDA said, “The Men’s Finals included a 14 year old junior shooter and it was an amazing thing to watch”!

    Shooting USA can be seen in Northern Nevada on the Outdoor Channel three times on February 8th normally at noon, 5 p.m. and 9 p.m
