Group of Burning Man Attendees Pledges to Boycott Lyon County Businesses in Wake of Bonta Case

  As of August 10th, 968 people have accepted a Facebook invitation to boycott Lyon County businesses on their way to and from Burning Man this year.

  The group is concerned about alleged civil rights violations committed against Reno-Sparks Indian Colony member Johnny Bonta, by the Lyon County Sheriff's Office in May.

  Exceptions can be made for businesses that make a public statement against selective law enforcement and institutionalized racism.

The empty field behind Donner Trail next to the new Middle School is now under surveilance. If you dump there, you will be caught. The fine for an individual is $2000.00, for a contractor it is higher and possible loss of licence. Several have already been caught. So, don't risk a visit by the Lyon County Sheriff.
