North Lyon Fire seeking candidates to fill a vacated Director’s position

The North Lyon County Fire Protection District is seeking candidates to fill a vacated Director’s position on the Board of Directors. Candidates must live within the boundaries of the District. Farm Bill Deadline Announced

Reno, June 17 — Agricultural producers interested in obtaining Farm Bill funding for conservation practices should apply by July 17.



Applications for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program, Agricultural Management Assistance, and Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program must be submitted by July 17 for producers to be considered for funding during this fiscal year.

I see that Fernley News has joined with Fernley Relay for Life.

Relay for Life is an event that raises funds for the American Cancer Society.

As a cancer survivor myself, I know that research for a final cure is important, and I support such research.

However, the American Cancer Society has caved.

It provides money to Planned Parenthood.
