NIXON, NV, 2/28/11 - The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe would like to invite the public and their families to come “Get Hooked For Free” at Free Fishing Day at Pyramid Lake.

To kick off the upcoming summer season, fishing throughout all of the public areas of Pyramid Lake will be FREE to the public on Saturday May 14, 2011.

Data Center Run by Amazon.com crashes Foursquare and Reddit

Scores of websites and Internet services like Foursquare and Reddit have crashed or had limited availability today because of problems at a data center run by Amazon.com. The problems revealed widespread reliance on Amazon Web Services, which rents out computers and data storage on a self-service basis over the Internet.

Raise the Water

People need water!

100 % of the water to Hazen is reliant on the canal and has been since the canal was built. Residents have paid O & M fees on property taxes that include funds for work on the canal. Residents and businesses say that work and maintenance should have been completed through the years. Now the canal is dry and residents have been without water since November of 2010.

Hands of Hope Food Bank has started a "Raise the Water" campaign for Hazen residents. They are looking for donations of bottled water (any sizes). This fundraiser is going to last 8 weeks. HOH is going to deliver the donations every Thursday evening during their food delivery…
