Tricia Pimentel was the original owner of Brims along with her husband Keith. They sold Brims and moved to New Hampshire and have finally ended up in Florida. Tricia was a member of Lyon Speaks Tonight Toastmasters and a positive influence on all that she touched.

Richard Warren “Dick” Rhyno, a 40 year resident of Fernley, Nev., passed away on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2010, due to complications of a stroke. He was born Sept. 5, 1929 in Chicago, Ill., to George Dewey and Lucy Maude (Hill) Rhyno, both of Omaha, Nebraska.

Vulcan Power Company Recommences Drilling At Patua Geothermal Property Near Fernley

Vulcan's integrated drilling, geo-science, cementing, coring, engineering and construction teams will work over the next 24 months to complete Phase I of Patua, which is expected to be the Company's first geothermal power plant, capable of producing 60 megawatts (MW) of clean energy. Man Tries to Force 8-Year-Old Girl into Women’s Restroom

Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for a man who allegedly tried to force an eight-year-old girl into a women’s restroom.



Police say it happened around 7:00 Monday night at the Fernley Fun Center at 480 W. Main Street in Fernley. The girl screamed, scaring the man away. She wasn’t harmed.

Fernley Teens start non-profit to help local troops and their families.

Teens4Troops is a non-profit organization started in 2008 by a small group of teens in Fernley, Nevada.



Having relatives and/or friends in most of the branches of Military service prompted us to take a look beyond ourselves to see if we could do a little something to help our local troops and their families. Getting a helping hand from the Northern Nevada Veteran’s Coalition put us on our way.
