Being one that receives hundreds of email's daily and having to delete around 500 that somehow managed to skip past my spam filter, It's nice to get one that makes you smile.
The way data is transmitted at supersonic speeds around the world it's hard to tell just where these things come from.
But ... It's always nice to share.
WHY WHY WHY
Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are almost dead?

For the purposes of this report, comparisons are only made for ¾” meter residential water rates, this covers the overriding majority of single family homes in Fernley.
Because of the cost of the Water Treatment Plant, in June of 2007 the former City Council approved four Water Rate Increases, which are occurring July 1st each year. July is historically the beginning of the heaviest water usage months, which makes it a ver…

In July, AngerisBrewing.com ran an article crediting Citizens Working 4 Fernley for organizing and executing a recall of two Fernley city councilmen. A retraction was later posted and will, for the benefit of the Fernley News, be released again in the next newsletter.
While volunteers did overlap between the recent successful council recall AND the Citizens Working 4 Fernley group, that does not mean that one was organized by the other.
The misunderstanding was mine and I apologize for the inc…

A small activist group wants to remove popularly elected officials. Councilman Martin was recalled by only 5% of his ward’s voters. Opponents of our council members claim to be the voice of the people, but don’t understand their larger community’s needs. In another recall group, some have been willing to spread lies and bully neighbors.
Fernley will eventually be constrained by our ability to use water resources and our attractiveness to newcomers. Our city council understands the need to provi…

In a quarter page ad published in the 28 October, 2009 edition of the Fernley Leader, Mr. Curt Chaffin asserts that one of the reasons he should be retained in office as the Ward Four City Councilman is for "not falling prey to reports put out by a branch of the Sierra Club," and for supporting for the Mustache Pozzolan Mine in Fernley.
Here are the facts regarding the pozzolan mine:
1. Pozzolan is a cement additive derived from diatomaceous earth. The approximate c…
