I attended this meeting at the golf coarse the other night and asked this question, "Could you tell me why the City of Fernley could not sell the Water Treatment Plant?". Basically, the answer I came away with is because it is worth more than the 75 million that was offered for it. Fernley's American Legion Post #37, is looking for your help. We have been looking for our own property. We are a very young Post with about 150 member veterans'. We are not for profit, so if you have a property that can not seam to sell, concider donating it! You would no longer have to pay taxes, sewer, water and fees! You would get the tax write-off. It could be a win for us all! We meet at the Senior Center the second Thursday of each month. Thank-you, Commander, Larry Ratcliffe.

This is to inform the property owners of this empty field, that they may be open to a law suit. Possibly the City of Fernley is also open to litigation. There is pile of concrete slabs, that young children are playing on like a jungle gym. If one or more of the youngsters gets seriously hurt on these, the property owner will be sued. The empty field behind Donner Trail next to the new Middle School is now under surveilance. If you dump there, you will be caught. The fine for an individual is $2000.00, for a contractor it is higher and possible loss of licence. Several have already been caught. So, don't risk a visit by the Lyon County Sheriff.
