Comment by Lynda Freeman on June 8, 2012 at 12:32pm NEWS - Crews working to repair leaks, water expected to return during weekend
By Steve Puterski - Lahontan Valley News
A third seep has been discovered along the Truckee Canal, according to Truckee-Carson Irrigation President Ernie Schank. He made the announcement on Thursday at TCID's regular monthly meeting. The district and Bureau of Reclamation found two seeps last week after the canal was rewatered upon completion of construction.
The newest seep is near Derby Dam between the dam and Gilpin Spill. Project Manager Rusty Jardine and Deputy Project Manager Walt Winder were on the scene Thursday and were absent from the meeting to locate the source of the leak.
