Event Description

Come hear the Reno Pops Orchestra play a variety of great orchestral music that explores the relationships among music, art, and color, featuring the classic “Pictures at an Exhibition” by Modest Mussorgsky. The performance will also include Debussy’s “Nuages” (Clouds) with “impressions and play of lights”, color and form; “Sunday in the Park with George” inspired by Georges Seurat’s pointillism painting “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte”; and several well-known popular pieces such as “Deep Purple”, “Mood Indigo”, “Tangerine”, “The Yellow Rose of Texas”, and more.

Bring your sketch pad and come ready to savor yet another family-friendly artistic adventure under the stars with the Reno Pops. Purchase dinner from Men Wielding Fire or bring your own picnic to enjoy before the concert. Our instrument petting zoo will be provided by Maytan Music Center. Come early to view a special art exhibit, including live demonstrations, by fine local artists.

Admission Free.
