Event Description
Join the Reno Pops for an exciting evening of blockbuster movie soundtracks from a century of cinema. The program will include Pirates of the Caribbean, Lawrence of Arabia, Gone with the Wind, music by John Williams, dancing and singing from the WWII era, several recent cinematic hits, and a silent film segment featuring a Buster Keaton silent with Reno Pops Orchestra accompaniment. Our guest dancers and soloists will help recreate some of the most memorable moments in movie music.
Sights and Sounds of the Silver Screen is part of the 17th annual Artown festival during July 2012. The month-long summer arts festival features more than 500 events produced by more than 100 cultural organizations and businesses in locations citywide, with major funding provided by the City of Reno.
