Event Description

Our mobile mammography unit, the Mammovan, will be traveling to Lovelock Safeway March 23rd – 24th, 2012 offering mammograms to the underserved and uninsured women of Lovelock. Any women interested, can give us a call at 1-877-581-6266 to schedule an appointment.

The Mammovan is a mobile mammography van that travels to underserved areas of our state to provide mammograms to geographically isolated and/or uninsured women who probably would not seek out mammography services on their own. The Mammovan seeks to serve the underserved population, targeting women age 40 and over. The Mammovan also provides services for women under 40, that have a physician referral. The unit has provided more than 30,000 mammograms and diagnosed 113 women with breast cancer. Many of these women would not have been diagnosed if it were not for the Mammovan. We have grant funds that allows us to provide the services at no cost if eligible.
